Die Performance Non trivial machines- an embodied tribute to Heinz von Förster erforscht ausgehend vom systemtheoretischen Gedankenguts des österreichischen (Meta-) Physikers Heinz von Förster die Beziehung und Unterschiedlichkeit von Mensch und Maschine und setzt sie in verkörperten Diskurs.
Medium ist die Contact Improvisation als Kunstform. In der Contact Improvisation bewegen sich die PerformerInnen im beständigen Fall um einen geteilten Schwerpunkt. Das dadurch generierte Bewegungsmaterial folgt physikalischen Gesetzmäßigkeiten und ist gleichzeitig unvorhersehbar. Die Form folgt der Funktion und entsteht aus einem präsenten physischen Hören auf die sich im Moment entfaltende Bewegung.
Um den Unterschied zwischen Mensch und Maschine auszuleuchten, gibt von Förster das Beispiel von trivialen und nicht trivialen Maschinen. Triviale Maschinen funktionieren immer gleich ( auf selber Input folgt selber Output ), sie sind durchschaubar und vorhersehbar. Nicht triviale Maschinen sind als lebendige Systeme (Liebespaar, Team, oder auch die Gesellschaft) unzerlegbar und nicht durchschaubar.
Eine Kamera zeichnet Bewegungen der PerformerInnen auf, welche in Echtzeit an die Wand projiziert werden. Dabei wird Licht umgewandelt in ein digitales Signal von 0 oder 1. Die PerformerInnen als nicht triviale Maschinen treten in Kommunikation mit der Kamera als triviale Maschine und begeben sich auf die Suche nach der Besonderheit und Impermanenz des Menschlichen .

The performance Non trivial machines- an embodied tribute to Heinz von Förster explores the relationship and differences between man and machine based on the system-theoretical ideas of the Austrian (meta-) physicist Heinz von Förster and places them in embodied discourse.
The medium is contact improvisation as an art form. In contact improvisation, the performers move in a constant fall around a shared centre of gravity. The emerging movement material is governed by physical principles and is at the same time unpredictable. Form follows function and arises from a present physical listening to the movement unfolding in the moment.
In order to illuminate the difference between man and machine, von Förster gives the example of trivial and non-trivial machines. Trivial machines always function in the same way (the same input is followed by the same output), they are transparent and predictable. Non-trivial machines are living systems (lovers, teams, or even society) that cannot be decomposed and are not transparent.
A camera records the creation of the performers, which are projected onto the wall in real time. Light is converted into a digital signal of 0 or 1. The performers as non-trivial machines enter into communication with the camera as a trivial machine and embark on a search for the impermanence and peculiarity of human nature.
